The Great Fizz

Packaging design project, and probably one of the projects where I learned the most by simply figuring things out as I went. From developing the visual direction to drawing the illustrations and working out how everything would translate onto a can. The idea was to create a fun, colourful soda brand that felt fresh and playful, with each flavour having its own visual personality. Checkout the project below:

The Challenge

The tricky part was starting with a completely blank canvas, there wasn't an existing visual language to work from, and I was figuring out packaging design for the first time.

I had to think beyond making individual illustrations look good and figure out how they would work together as a pattern, sit on a curved can, and still make each flavour feel recognisable.

The Solution

I built the visual language around simple, hand-crafted fruit and botanical illustrations, using different colour combinations to distinguish the flavours. The illustrations became the main character of the packaging, while the typography and layout were kept relatively simple so the patterns could do the talking.

The result was a playful set of cans that felt connected as a family, while still giving each flavour its own identity.
